神戸ビエンナーレ2009「アートインコンテナ」国際展 特別賞受賞作品

コンテナの内部に楕円状に鏡を貼りこみ、二つある焦点の一方から光を照射させている。鏡により反射した光は、もう一方の焦点である入口に集まり、見る人は無数の光に包まれた空間を体験する。人は光を感じることで一日のリズム、季節のリズムを整えていると言われている。海の上のきらめきのような、生まれては消える光の揺らぎに身を置くことで、人は光覚の存在を再認識させていく。

Special prize at KOBE Biennale 2009 "Art in a Container" International Competition
October 3, 2009 to November 23, 2009
Mirrors are mounted in a rugby-ball shape inside the container, and the lights are lit from one end of the two focal points. The light that is reflected on the mirrors concentrates on the other end. Viewers experience a room surrounded with infinite light. Humans are said to adjust to the daily and seasonal rhythm by feeling light. Viewers recognize their sense of light when they put themselves in the wavering light that continuously appears and disappears like the sparkle over the sea surface.
